New Year's Resolutions

Today is New Year's Eve, so of course I've got to make some resolutions for myself.
1- Finish  this blog
2- Persuade my mom at least six times to let me bake cupcakes
3-Actually do my New Year's resolutions
4- Buy something big and totally worth it with my own money
5- Do as well in school as I can manage
6- Ummmm,,,,,,,,
7- I'm done

Tomorrow is New Year's Eve.  I'm not sure what I'm doing for it. I might go to my aunt and uncle's house and dip food into their chocolate fountain.  The only problem is thatbecause my aunt's birthday is on New Year's Day, I don't know how late we'll be able to stay up.
I want to play Robot Unicorn Attack 2 right now. I don't know if I was supposed to put that in quotations, but it's OK. Robot Unicorn Attack 2 is an app where your robot unicorn needs to jump over stuff, break stars, and collect fairies and raindrops. I'm not sure what the point of the game is, but it's fun.
For breakfast today, I feel like having Mini Wheats in chocolate milk. Yum. Bye for now!

Sledding Poem

Every year, my family makes a little sledding hill, which is shown above. Even though it looks small, when we sled on it we usually end up in the road. My nine year old sister Olivia, my eleven year old sister Isabelle and I usually spend a couple hours of sledding every day. Some of that time is used to make it taller, and a couple days ago we made a bump that you can't really see.    Anyway, today is going to be pretty uneventful.  We are going to Walmart, and I might buy something, but I don't know yet.  I also have a dance party, but that doesn't mean we're dancing. It's a party with my dance class where we exchange socks and... I'm not sure yet.
Ta ta for now!

Monday, December 29, 2014

In this post, I will talk about my sister's birthday, Christmas, and  Chuckarama.
My sister's birthday: My sister Isabelle turned eleven on December 22.  She had a party in which she and her guests decorated canvases, ate food, and played games. After the guests left, Isabelle told us that she felt sick.  That was sad because Isabelle has been sick on her birthday for the past couple years, so she expected to be sick this year. She had a stomach and head ache this time, so she didn't have a birthday cake until yesterday. On a happier note, she was better in time for Christmas.
Christmas: On Christmas, I woke up at four a.m. I was the only one awake, so I walked around the house a few times and watched the snow that was coming down pretty hard. Eventually, two of my sisters woke up, so we watched TV (and occasionally snuck upstairs to look at the presents). Finally, at about 6:45, we were allowed to open our presents. I got a cool Elsa doll that is reversible (it can flip into Anna), a Frozen shirt, some leggings, lotion, Rainbow Loom bands, a hair straightener, earrings, a hand mixer, food color spray, a cupcake batter scooper thingy, an awesome Bluetooth speaker with lights, some curlers, boots, a blanket, hand sanitizer, and candy. We got a family pass to Soldier Hollow, so we can take a day off of school to go snow tubing. After we opened all of our presents, we went outside and played in the snow. Then we went to my aunt and uncle's house and saw what our cousins got, and then we drove to my grandma's house to eat delicious food for lunch. The menu was ham, funeral potatoes, jello, rolls, orange rolls, and some kind of bean salad. It was all super tasty.   Then we played games, had cake, and went home. We ate cereal for dinner. After my youngest siblings went to bed, we watched a random Christmas movie and went to bed. It was a great Christmas.
Chuckarama: On the 27th, my family and I went to Chuckarama with the money we got from my grandparents for Christmas. Because I always feel sick after eating too much at Chuckarama, I was scared to go. Of course I went anyway. We paid our money, then rushed to the food which looked delicious. It was Italian day, and I got Alfredo, Mac n Cheese, mashed potatoes, a fish thing that I had thought was a chicken finger, an ice cream sundae, and a piece of German chocolate cake. I ate it all, and I wasn't sick for once. Then we went to Barnes and Noble to pick out a book, then Target to get some groceries, and then we went home. When we got home, I realized I was still hungry, so I ate pasta salad and a cinnamon roll.
Today is December 29th I believe. We are doing to play dodgeball at a church with our cousins, then go sledding on the sledding hill we made in our front yard. It might snow today, but lately the weather people have been wrong which is sad because I love snow! On Christmas, we got nine inches of snow which hasn't melted yet. Well, I'm done writing now. See ya later!

Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving break was last week.
Luckily, I got better from my terrible sickness, that everyone is starting to have, on Tuesday.  (Which is also a bad thing, because I had to go to school. It was seriously pointless, because it was the last day of school before Thanksgiving break.)
Now we have math homework that I don't understand.  It's like A squared plus B squared equals C squared, which is the hypotenuse, and you have to find the square root of something and something else. It's really confusing, and it's boring, and I shouldn't be rambling on about it because it's. Really. Boring.  Ok I really need to stop talking about it
Anyway, the day before Thanksgiving I went to the Daily Herald work place and me and like fifteen other people sorted/put together about five thousand newspapers for Thanksgiving.  Oh, and we went to Pizza Pie Cafe.  But more about that later.  I had to open the main section, insert a heavy pile of ads, close it, and hand it off to the next person to rubber band, and that person would give it to the next person to put on the thingy that all the newspapers went on.  It was pretty fun, especially because there was a competition. There was three teams of four or five people.  I was with my friend Erin, my cousin's cousin, and my cousin's uncle.  The team that sorted the most newspapers would get a fifty dollar bonus.  My team won, so it's like an extra 12 dollars for me!:D  We worked for five or six hours, but we are only going to get paid like twenty bucks. That's, like, minimum wage. :(
Onto Pizza Pie Cafe.  I don't even know who paid, because I went with my cousin's uncle and some other people.  I only knew five people in all- four cousins and a friend.  I sat with my cousins Travis and Mitch, who are seventh graders, and my friend Erin, who is also a seventh grader.  My two cousins, possibly showing off to Erin, dumped spices on, like, everything.  Even at the salad bar they dumped salt and pepper into the dressings.  It was super embarrassing! I was afraid we would all get kicked out of the restaurant! You should've seen our table... ew...!
Now, onto Thanksgiving.  I'm going to try to list all the food there was.  Turkey, rolls, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, jello with whipped cream, jello with whipped cream and pretzels, stuffing, cranberry sauce, some kind of casserole, water, banana cream pie, pumpkin pie, chocolate pudding pie, chocolate cheesecake, apple pie, and another apple pie.  I love pie!
Now Thanksgiving break is over.  Today was the first day back at school.  It wasn't too bad.  We took a test in history that would determine whether or not we would be in the geography bee.  I guess there is one good thing about this day-I know I won't be participating in that school activity anytime soon :) Who knows what the deepest lake in the world is anyway?

Sick. By Serena

Dear stupid diary,
I'm in a bad mood. I'm super tired, and I'm super sick.  I can't eat anything or drink anything because my appetite is gone. I have a fever and a cough and short breaths. There's nothing I can do every day but watch TV which gets super boring.
Thanksgiving is on Thursday; I hope I'm better by then😞
I can't imagine eating turkey right now. Eew!
My mom says I have to write on my blog every day. Sometimes life gets boring and there's nothing to write about. I might eventually have to add short stories and poetry and stuff.
I was really proud of myself yesterday because I ate a couple spoonfuls of hot chocolate ice cream!  Surprisingly it really tasted like hot chocolate...
I lost four pounds in two and a half days! That's really scary. I'm only 82 pounds now.
On Friday I had the boringest field trip ever.  It was an after school conference, and... It was just terrible. Especially since I had a 102° fever the whole time, but I didn't know that until when I got home at 7:30!
Now I'll write things that make me happy because I feel so terrible. 1) it's almost Thanksgiving! 2) our Christmas tree is up and beautiful! 3) at Costco today my mom got me a Christmas present! 4) I'm not at school today! 5)I don't have to go to dance today!
I'm going to go check my temperature.  It was 98° a while ago, but I'm not so sure anymore. 😢 be back in a few!!
I'm back! Dang! My temperature is 99.4 :-(
Because I'm so intensely bored, I am now going to write a poem on the spot.
Fuzzy socks
Pumpkin pie
Loud knocks
Laugh till cry

Okay, I give up on that one. I'll just tell you my OOTD. (Outfit of the day)
Fuzzy pink and yellow socks, blue fleece leggings, light blue shirt, and a cozy blue hoodie.
My blog really needs a new background.  Right now it's a blue sky and a bunch of clouds. I want to change it to Elsa
from Frozen. She is my favorite.
I feel a lot better now. I'm going to change my background now. See ya later☺
Love
Serena❤

Advice Column by Serena #2: My friend doesn't want to do the same thing as I do at recess. What do I do?

Hi! It's Serena again, with another advice column.
I have been through this problem many times...
Read down below for a solution:)

Problem: My friend doesn't want to do the same thing as I do at recess. What do I do?

Serena's Solution: Even though I don't have recess anymore, I have been through this many times.  I always wanted to play the computer, and my friend Brynn always wanted to sit and chat.  My tried and true solution is to try both things together and see which one you two enjoy the most.
Hope I helped :)

Love,
Serena

Advice Column by Serena #1- My friends are talking about another friend behind her back... what should I do?

I've decided that I want to do an advice column. Because I, Serena, have so many problems, I have decided to quit writing about them and now give advice on them. So anyway, onto the problem and solution.

Problem: I have a group of five friends: me, Brynn, Penny, Emma, and Daisy.  Brynn and Emma have been talking about Penny and how she doesn't talk to them and how she is acting mean and only hanging out with boys.  I am really sad that we are talking about her behind her back.  Even though the talk isn't that mean, it still makes me feel uncomfortable.  What can I do?
Serena's Solution: I have been through this. It's true it's sad, but there is a way to stop it.  What I said to my friends was, "You know what? You don't know what she's been through.  I think we should stop talking about her.  Would you say that if she was with us? If you want to know why she is doing those things to you, why don't you TALK TO HER?"  My friends were startled, but they eventually agreed that they would talk to her and see what was wrong. Good luck <3

Love,
Serena

Mustard for Marli Embarrassment. By Serena

Today we had to read a story called Mustard for Marli or something weird like that in history, because we were learning about historical fiction and how it relates to historical non-fiction and blah blah blah.  Anyway, the reason I am writing about this is because I fell asleep while the teacher droned on about the story, and I was awoken by a sharp prick on my back with Kayla's pencil.  As I turned around to see what she wanted and why she poked me so painfully, I heard a deep grumbly voice coming from the front of the classroom.  It was my history teacher, Mr. Quacko.
"Care to join us, Miss Sebado?  Or would you rather dream about ponies in sparkly rainbow land?"
As he stared at me, I concentrated on my desk, trying not to burst into tears.
That's all for now... I'll tell the rest of the story when I am feeling better :(

Karaoke. By Serena

In drama today, we did karaoke.
I pretty much embarrassed myself to death out there.
I am really really bad at singing in front of other people:)
My voice screeched and everybody laughed at me and forgot to clap:/
Luckily I told my friend about it.  She put her arms around me and she said,
"We all have gone through terrible things and we will never stop going through them.  But everyone goes through them, and you will never be alone."

Selfies and Frosting. By Serena

Dear diary,
So, I'm back from dinner now. Anyway, after school, my friends were really bored. So they pretty much barged into my house (with permission from my mom) and dragged me to a cemetery. They dragged me because I didn't want to go. All they would do is take pictures! How boring is that?!
Anyway, it was fun.  I guess trying new things pays off...
After we were done, with 200 selfies next to old graves as the souvenir, I went home.
I made this really good frosting. It was almost perfect, but I read the 4 cups of confectioners sugar as 4 cups of granulated sugar. I mean, who knows the difference between those two big words anyway?
The frosting was sort of grainy, and sort of weird tasting, but whatever.
My message for today is it's okay if you mess up, because there will almost always be another chance to try again. Probably.
Love,
Serena:)

My Sister would Look Cute in that. By Serena

Dear Diary,
today was very eventful.
In first period, which is art, I got an A+ on my painting. It was of an old shoe on the road.  I didn't think it was that great so I was super stoked when I got an A+.  Anyway, enough about the boring stuff.
In second period, which is drama, a girl who I thought hated me because she has like 200 million followers on Instagram and she never talks to me smiled at me.  And asked me where I got my shirt because she liked it!
This is exactly what she said to me: "Where did you get that shirt, because I wanna go shopping there. For my four year old sister."
It was the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me! Especially since her sister is totally the cutest.
Anyway, the rest of the school day was plain.  Except for when I found out I got 100% on a state test I studied for last minute.  It was awesome:)
Oh no, got to go.  Time for dinner!!
Love,
Serena :D

Serena isn't real...But Anika is

Hi, guys.  It's Serena:D  This is my first post.  In this blog I will be describing my dramatic life detail by dramatic detail.  I hope you will take this ca-razy advice into your life.  Have a great day!! :)

P.S. I will be writing about my actual life too.  The posts that say "By Serena" by them are fictional about a fictional character.  If they don't say "By Serena" by them, they are completely true about me.
