Presentation Post . . .

Hello and welcome to my blog. It has a lot of strange posts, including poems, stories, stuff about my life, random advice columns,  a ton of stuff about dance, things that bug me, a ton of pictures, etc. One of my favorites is where I took tidbits of the blog I had when I was six. I also talked about my struggle of keeping a blog. To be honest the struggle was real.
Anyway, go to that link and have a nice day.
Goodbye

Timeline

I decided to do a timeline of myself and how I've grown since I was like 6 months old. I took both of my scrapbooks and took pictures of the pictures in them. It was a lot of fun!!

Dance dance dance

It was a very long, dance-y weekend. On Friday was my dance performance. It was wonderful-ish. I invited six friends, but only four could come.
I started getting ready at about 4 p.m. I got to Maple Mountain High School at five so Erin and I  could practice our duet. Blah blah, I know you all have read enough dance posts, so I'll make it quick. Erin and I went ninth. We did super good!! The one problem we had was that Erin was a litle  early at the beginning and I literally forgot what I was doing the last few counts.  Then, my team performed our lyrical. We did it cold turkey and we were first after the preshow, so we did okay. Then we had about an hour before we had to perform again because we were last. Two people from my team were partnered up and sent to help the younger classes. Erin and I got California Girls, which is my sisters crazy class. Let's just say they were energetic and really good at straying from where they were supposed to be. ↭ Then my team performed our jazz routine. Eh. We then all watched a slideshow of all of the pictures from the dance year. It was really sad because I knew I would never have the same team again and they are like my family.
After that, me and my friends went on the stage while everyone was leaving, and the day ended on a happy note: I did five aerials in a row : )  it was a great day.

Herriman Dance Conpetition part II

After I danced, me, Olivia(nine year old sis), and my mom went to Zupas. I got a yummy sandwich and a salad. (Pictures below) Then we went to Gordman's, Ross, Famous Footwear, and Justice. We didn't get anything. After that, I begged my mom to take us to the Sweet Tooth Fairy. All mothers who went got a free cupcake because it was the day before mother's day. I got a deeeeeelicious dulce de leche cupcake. Then we went to awards and then drove home. We got back at almost midnight. It was a great day!

Herriman UT, Releve dance competition

My final dance competition was on Saturday.  It was in Herriman, about 45 minutes away from Spanish Fork. My sister had to be there at eight a.m. I had had drill practice at 5:30 a.m. the day before, so I did not leave at seven with my sister because I needed sleep. At 1:30, my friend Erin and her mom took me to Herriman. We were stuck in traffic for about half an hour. When we got there, there was only five of us in our dressing room. Nine people were missing. A few minutes later, everyone had arrived, but...apparently one of the girls had food poisoning and was puking every ten minutes. It was just great. She couldn't compete in our first dance, so our team had to change quite a few things in the dance, making it very stressful. We performed though, and without too many random mistakes. We did not do as well as our last competition though.
In our second dance, Keep Us Safe, the sick girl decided that she was well enough to perform. We sort of stank up that dance, but we got first place anyway. In our first dance we got fifth overall in our division, which is pretty good.

Clash of Clans Talk in Math

I'm in a math class where the majority of the students are boys. They only talk about one thing the whole class period. It's name is.....Clash of Clans. Practically all boys have that game. Here are some of the things I hear in math, not in order of conversation:]
"Ryker, what's your leader's name? Jason?! You're such a liar."
"My cousin has the eighth best clan!"
"Your wizards can't be above level six!! The maximum amount is level six! I doubt you even have a Clash."
"What should I change my name to? We only have one chance!!"
"Wait, Anika, YOU have a Clash of Clans?!" (The answer, sadly, is yes.)
"My gold and elixir collectors are level 9!"

This might have been the most strange post ever. I guess I'm just proving that the human does have a pretty good brain:)

PAYSON TEMPLE:)

I'm going to the Payson Temple open house on Thursday, and I'm so excited! I haven't been to a temple open house since the Draper Temple was built. Everyone says it is so beautiful, and I can't wait!!
Here are some fun facts about the temple.

  • The Payson Temple will be the 15th temple in Utah!
  • The temple took five years to build/furnish.
  • The building has five levels
  • It will be the third temple in Utah County
  • It's gorgeous!! That's not even an opinion!!!
I'll post pictures of the temple after I go on Thursday. I'm so very excited to see it!

St George... Part 2

DANCE COMPETITION!!!
I woke up pretty early (seven a.m.) to get ready for my duet. I was SUPER NERVOUS! Dancing on the stage with only one other person doesn't exactly sound appealing. Skipping all the boring details until awards... WE (me and Erin Hansen) GOT THE HIGH POINT! That means we did the best in our division. I was super proud. We got a trophy!!!! Here come more pictures.
The second picture is later in the day at awards for team dances. Our team lyrical and jazz dance did okay. We could have done better. We got a white and pink diamond (first and second place).
It was a fun but TIRING day.
I'm too lazy so I'm not going to make a separate post for what we did on Sunday. We went to Pioneer Park: pictures three, four, five, and six.
Bye bye now!! I've got to go watch my duet on the dance competition website. ☺

St George!!!

Last Thursday morning, my family left for St George. Why?! 1) Me and Olivia had a dance competition on Saturday. And 2) We all had a day off of school on Friday!!
On Thursday, we blah blah blah packed blah blah blah and left. When we got to St George, we unpacked and went swimming in the pool near our grandparent's house thingy that they don't live in. Then, me and my mom went to Walmart while everyone else went to the nearby park. We bought a bunch of delicious junk food. When we got back, I made Mac n'cheese for dinner. I didn't have the recipe though, so it was almost perfect Mac n'cheese. After we ate, we watched Disney Channel which we do not have at home. Then we went to bed. Me and Olivia shared a room and each got a bed.
The next day, I had imitation Captain Crunch for breakfast. It was super sugary. I stayed at the house with my mom and my little sister Lanie while everyone else played tennis. Then we packed a lunch and went to the Anasasi petroglyphs. Here's where the pictures come in, because pictures are a thousand words.
Ooookay. I can't find where to get my pictures on this app. This is confusing. Oh, found it!! The first picture is the first view I saw.  The second picture is just, wow. The third picture is where we ate lunch. A rock. The fourth picture is some petroglyphs. The fifth picture is meeee!
This is the conclusion for this post. Check out St George part 2 for dance competition!!!

D@nc3r

D@nc3r is my title. Why? Because I'm a dancer with problems. I need to get these problems down on paper (or blogger).
1-I don't know if I should do the Spanish Fork High School drill team, because this next year they're accepting ninth graders. Or if I should just stay at Turning Point...?
2-my toes have pointing problems. Like ew. I don't even know what's wrong with them.
3-I'm really bad at auditioning for dance things. Last Saturday, I auditioned for the Payson temple cultural celebration lyrical dance routine. I remembered the dance we learned until we actually did it for the judges. I forgot the whole. Entire. Thing. I don't feel that bad though; a lot of really good dancers I know didn't get in.
4-Back to the drill team subject. WILL MY MOM BE WILLING TO PAY FOR IT?!
5-I'd be with a bunch of old people (10, 11, and 12th graders).
6-the drill coach, which is a man, might be a meanie head.
That's all for today. Bye bye now, so I can go panic.

History Field Trip Part 2

I had to do a part 2 because inserting pictures was getting REALLY annoying. So here we go again.
Yuck. The floor where we ate looked like a bathroom floor.

Some lights made by Thomas Edison himself. (Maybe)

The view from a window. Wow.

A bunch of senators (or something) having lunch.

Ooh. A painting.

A lion. Those clouds are amazing. Like wow.

I didn't get any pictures from when we went to the pioneer museum, because apparently it would "ruin the ancient artifacts." It was pretty sweet though- I saw the real GOLDEN SPIKE!!! Sweet!!! It was very heavily protected though. There was like, old pioneer glasses, clothes, blankets, dolls,  things like that. But holy cow. The dolls were SOOOOO creepy. I'm glad we don't have those dolls today, that's for sure. Then we had to walk to the Capitol building. Luckily it wasn't too far away. All in all, it was a pretty great field trip. Emphasis on the pretty. See you later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

History Field Trip Part 1

On Friday, I went on a field trip to a Pioneer museum in Salt Lake City...
And the Utah State Capitol Building.
In other words, this blog post is going to be filled with pictures.
Wow. Pro pic much? I think yes. Besides the grass, that is.

I took a picture of a couple couples. Because I'm weird. And I know them.
Here's a random statue thing. The clouds are pretty.

Feast your eyes on this. The people show how huge the building is.
The ceiling is really cool. This place has natural lighting.................................................................................................

SOMETIMES I HATE BLOGS. BUT SOMETIMES I LOVE 'EM

I really need to get some more posts done. I have to do about forty more hours on this thing. It's pretty hard to make myself do it.  Sometimes, my dad says, "Have you done a blog post?" and most of the time my answer is, "NO." Then I walk away because I REALLY don't want to do one. But actually, if I have time and want to do it, it's pretty fun. I can talk about anything and no one else can read it unless they want to. No one does. (Until I have to present this at English.)
When I was six, I started my first blog.  (thoseswimmingdays.blogspot.com)

Here was one of my first posts. I was very weird back then.  Here is the first quote:
"Who loves pizza? Is it your favorite food? You should love it. People who hate it you stink."
Now everybody knows how nice of a child I was.

Moving on to quote number two.
"Well, I'm geting bord here, noeone cuns to my blog so there's no need to right write.  that's how I feel. "
Great job spelling back then, Anika. (Not.)
I was getting pretty angry because no one was checking out my blog. Apparently, I took it out on my grammar.
Quote number three.
"Quote never give up unquote"
This quote was from 2011. I used some words I learned from General Conference. (At General Conference they say quote unquote a lot)
Quote number four.
"Don't go in the
vote for Anika as president of the united states!!!!"
I didn't know I was so rude.
Moooving on.
Quote number five, which is my favorite.

"TRIM TRIM TRIM THE TREE ORNAMENTS GALORE RED AND YELLOW GREEN AND WHITE MORE AND MORE AND MORE"

No wonder I'm in honors English. How poetic.

Wow; this post was actually pretty fun.
Have a good day...why don't you go start a blog?
P.s. to my English class: This is one of my more laid back posts, so don't judge how I wrote it.
THANK YOU FOR LISTENING.

I HATE BRACES WITH A PASSION

My dad always tells me that I'm so fortunate to have braces and that my teeth will be beautiful and stuff like that. But time to face reality- BRACES KILL. I got mine on in July, I think. For the first hour or so after you get them on, they feel fine, just a little tight. After that one hour, you feel ULTIMATE PAIN. It hurts SO INTENSELY BAD that you have to take medicine, which I never do because I HATE MEDICINE! It hurts for the next couple days, and all you can eat is oatmeal, soup, ice cream, jello, macaroni and cheese, yogurt, etc. It really stinks. So, why am I talking about braces on this particular day?
Today, I went to the orthodontist after school to get my braces tightened. First, I brushed my teeth with a disposable toothbrush that already has toothpaste in it. Then, I got called back. The lady, age 20 or so, proceeded to take out my wires. During the processes, she accidentally shoved the pliers into my lower gums. IT HURT SO BAD. My eyes were swimming. She didn't apologize; she just asked if I was okay, like, ten seconds later. Then, after that treacherous experience, I went to brush my teeth and floss, which is a lot easier without wires on. After that, the orthodontist came over and told me what beautiful teeth I have. He sadly didn't take my braces off though. Another lady, this time a brunette, put bigger, more painful wires in. I STRONGLY dislike that woman. With pliers in her hand in my mouth, she turned around and talked to her friend about hanging out or something like that. I wanted to say, "HELLO! YOU MIGHT KILL ME HERE! YOU HAVE PLIERS IN MY MOUTH AND YOU'RE NOT EVEN LOOKING!". Well, when she did turn around, she carried on closing up my brackets and PUSHING MY TEETH AS FAR BACK AS SHE COULD. WITH PLIERS. Holy cow. It hurt sooooooo bad, I was going to scream. It felt like she was pulling my teeth out. It was the worst orthodontist experience I have ever had.
Right now, I'm just laying on my stomach, typing this post. My teeth really hurt. For dinner, I tried to eat the tortilla wraps we had, but it didn't really work. I then drank a smoothie and ate some mac n'cheese. For dessert, I had a Fudgesicle. Then I complained to my dad that my teeth hurt really bad, and he told me that I should take some medicine. I told him that I didn't like medicine (seriously, the last time I was really sick I only took medicine once because I hate it so much) and he told me that I couldn't complain then. I was like, whatever. You don't feel my pain, man. My teeth pain and my I hate medicine pain. Well, I guess that's all for now. Farewell, and may the braces be with you. (Ha ha.)

New classes and weekend

The second term finally ended, do we got to start new classes. My schedule goes as following: English, science, debate (ew), foods (yum), math, lunch, PE, history.  I don't like debate yet, but we'll see what happens. I loooove foods. So far, Mrs. Dobson has shown us how to make garlic mashed potatoes and chocolate chip cookies, and she gave us samples of each. Delicious! I think we're finally going to start baking tomorrow. I'm not sure what we're going to make though. Math is okay, even though there are 22 boys and eight girls. English is the same. Science is pretty much the same. Debate has nine students I think. It's not fun though. PE- fifty one students. 51 loud chatty girls. History is the same, but now I have a friend in my class. Anyway, school is going pretty good, considering it's school.
About my weekend. On Friday I made chocolate chip cookies that I learned how to make in foods. Then I put six on a plate and went to Sadie's house to watch Divergent. Also there were Grace Packer and Brinley Crouch. All Grace and Brinley did during the movie was talk about the Maze Runner, and me and Sadie enjoyed the movie. When it was over, about 9:00, Grace and Brinley went to Grace's house and, believe it or not, watched the Maze Runner.
The next day, at 11:00 a.m., I went to Sadie's house. We stretched, jumped on the tramp, talked, and took pictures. It was super fun.  At 1:30 I went home. Later in the day, at 5:00, I went to Mylie's house for dinner. We had cheeseburgers, chips, bacon, apple slices, punch, chocolate covered strawberries, and deeeelicious doughnuts. Then me and Mylie played Life. After that, we were hungry again so we made the best Orange Julius I have ever tasted. Then we played MASH. We did more stuff (I don't remember) and then we ate more doughnuts and chips. Then I went home.
Today I had BYC in the morning. It was really embarrassing because it was silent and then some random person called me. I just pretended it wasn't me hahahaha.

4 Day Weekend

We had last Friday and today (Monday) off from school! I had a super fun four day weekend.  On Friday, me, Isabelle, Olivia, Dylan, and my mom and dad went to Soldier Hollow to go tubing. Sam wanted to stay home for some reason, and Elena had to stay home obviously because she's too little. Before we left, we made lunch so we could eat in the car (It was ten or so, too early to eat). Anyway, we drove to Soldier Hollow which took about an hour. When we decided it was time to eat, we realized that we didn't bring lunch. We were super hungry, so we ate the two bananas and package of E.L.Fudge cookies we brought. When we got to Soldier Hollow, we checked in. We walked to the tube tent thing, and we each got a tube. We then walked to the hill, got our tube handles attached to a rope, and were pulled up the hill. Then we were free to pick any of the lanes and sled down. They are very long, and you can't tell by looking at them how fast they go. (EXTREMELY fast) The only annoying thing was at the last part of the hill, where the cones were, you had to drag your feet on the ground so you would stop before you hit the flimsy fences. It was really funny, though; there was a teenager that was about 18, and she didn't drag her feet. She actually hit the fence and flipped over and got trapped in another part of the fence. It was hilarious to watch, especially since she didn't get hurt.  Anyway, we went down a few more times, then we were tired and cold and hungry, so we decided to leave. We only had a few minutes left until our time expired anyway. Because we were so hungry, we stopped at Subway and split a sandwich. Yum! And that was the end of the fun for that day.
The next day, we didn't do much.
On Sunday, I made deeeeeeeeelicious cupcakes. (See previous posts) We also went to my Grandma's house and ate cake. It was a deeeeeeeeelicious day.
Today was a pretty fun day. First, I had dance at 8 a.m. (Oh joy.) Then we went to Costco with my cousins and had a bunch of tasty free samples like super cheesy hot grilled cheese sandwich pieces. When we went home, I got a text from my friend asking if me, Isabelle, and Olivia wanted to go with her to Maple Mountain Junior High, where her dad works as a counselor. We went, and it was super fun. We drank soda from the faculty room, played in the P.E. gym with big exercise balls, and did tricks in the wrestling gym. About 3 1/2 hours later, we went home. My family had pizza for dinner, and then we had Family Home Evening. We did a relay race and ate ice cream. All in all, it was a great four day weekend!

Here's the finishes product... Of course I took a picture of the one that looks the worst. :')
So, I made cupcakes today. They are reaalllllyyyy good! I took pictures of the whole process.

First, I put half an Oreo inside each liner.
Then, I made the batter. (From scratch)

Then I crushed up Oreos for the frosting.
Then I put 'em in the oven.
.
 Then they grew. 😂
 They came out perfectly! Yummy❤
Then I whipped up the frosting...
Put it in a frosting bag...
The frosting is to die for!
